The Arcadia Police Department is dedicated to protecting the quality of life and providing the highest level of service to the community. The most valuable resources are the men and women who service the Arcadia Police Department. They include Police Officers, Reserve Officers, Dispatchers, Records Technicians, Administrative Support Staff and Police Volunteers. The City of Arcadia is 11.2 square miles and is located 20 miles east of Los Angeles with a population of approximately 60,000 people.

This is for individuals who want to become a full-time Peace Officer but have not attended a California basic POST academy.

Volunteers In Patrol Support

The Volunteers In Patrol Support (VIPS) provides additional volunteer support to the Arcadia Police Department operations.

Law Enforcement Recruit (Pre-Service)

This is for individuals who are currently enrolled or have successfully completed a California basic POST academy.

Explorer Program

An explorer is a volunteer scout who assists police in various tasks, including evidence searches, report writing, command post operations..

Dispatcher I/II (Full-time)

This position involves receiving calls requesting emergency and non-emergency services and relaying pertinent information to responders.

Police Records Technician I

This is a full-time position performing a wide variety of clerical work including typing, proofreading, filing, and data entry.

Police Cadet (Part-time)

This position is designed for individuals interested in a future in law enforcement. No prior law enforcement experience required.

Reserve Program

The Arcadia Police Reserve Officer is a part time employee who is committed to making Arcadia a safer community.
