Low Impact Development (LID)

LID is a stormwater management strategy that emphasizes conservation and the use of existing natural site features integrated with stormwater controls to more closely mimic natural hydrology patterns in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. 

How is LID different from the Standard Urban Mitigation Plan (SUSMP)?

The LID Ordinance requires stormwater mitigation for a larger number of development and redevelopment projects than was previously required under SUSMP.  All development and redevelopment projects shall comply with the latest County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works LID Standards Manual.
