Mayor Sharon Kwan originally moved to Arcadia over twenty years ago and has been a resident in the Upper Rancho Estate for over 12 years. She is a proud mom of four and a successful small business owner. Sharon was one of the very few women of color in the financial services industry when she initially broke into the industry in the 1990's. Since then, Sharon has advocated for women in leadership and has sought to embody that herself.

Prior to being elected to the City Council, Sharon served as the President of Arcadia's Rancho Santa Anita Property Owners Association for ten years. Sharon also served on the boards of the USC Arcadia Foundation and the Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association. She earned a Bachelor of Science at UC Riverside, graduated cum laude, and earned the “Most Outstanding Student” award. She values education immensely and has ingrained these ideals into her children, two of which have graduated from the University of Chicago, one who is currently attending Harvard University, and one who is still in high school.

Sharon is honored she has been elected to serve Arcadia and is deeply humbled to have earned the trust of Arcadia’s District 2 residents. Most of all, she is eager to be one of the first Asian-American women to be elected to the Arcadia City Council.
