Council Member David Fu is a 28 year real estate and business lawyer, practicing in Arcadia, and living in Highland Oaks with Natalie, his wife. He was born in New York and moved to California at age 5.
In addition to the Juris Doctor degree, David has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation.
David comes to the City Council after a long history of public service.
David served as one of only four attorneys appointed to the Judicial Council of California, the policy making body for California’s Judicial Branch, serving all the courts of the state, and chaired by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court.
Previously, he served on the State Bar of California’s Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (the JNE Commission) for four years, including as its chair. The JNE Commission was tasked with protecting our legal system by screening every potential judge seeking appointment by the Governor, assuring these judicial candidates were honest, competent, unbiased, and had proper judicial temperament.
As the co-chair of the Real Property Law Section for the State Bar, he performed consumer protection duties, and presented continuing education to lawyers throughout the state, to assure the ethical, competent representation of Californians.
In 2018, David was honored as the Attorney of the Year by the California Lawyers Association, Small Firm and Solo Section.
