Trash & Recycling
The City contracts with Waste Management for residential and multi-family trash and recycling collection services. Residential trash is collected every Wednesday. If a holiday falls on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, trash pick-up will occur on Thursday. Backyard Service & Senior Citizen Discount Programs:
Backyard service is provided free for residents with a physical hardship. Additionally, residents over the age of 62 qualify for a senior citizen discount.
Commercial and Multi-Family Mandatory Recycling
Assembly Bill 341 requires recycling services for businesses, public entities, and multi-family residential dwellings of five or more units that generate four or more cubic yards of commercial solid waste per week. The City has three permitted commercial haulers to assist with your refuse and recycling needs. Commercial customers are eligible to receive recycling containers upon request at no additional costs. Bulky Item Pickups
Waste Management offers four free bulky item pickups per calendar year for each single-family residential account and two free bulky item pickups per calendar year for each multi-family residential unit.

Pharmaceuticals and sharps are anonymously accepted at the Temple City Sheriff's Station located at 8838 Las Tunas Drive in Temple City.
Mandatory Organics Recycling (AB 1826)
April 1, 2016: Businesses that generate eight cubic yards of organic waste per week must arrange for organic waste recycling services.
