Construction Updates

The Public Works Services Department administers various projects included in the City's Capital Improvement and Equipment Plan.  These projects are related to the City's infrastructure and are necessary to maintain a safe and healthy quality of life in Arcadia.  Public Works Services Projects include such things as road and sidewalk improvements, tree projects, building maintenance, water and sewer maintenance and improvements, traffic signals, and park maintenance.


Live Oak Well Treatment System Project (Updated 6/1/20)
The project includes the demolition of an existing block wall, construction of a concrete foundation pad to support treatment vessels; construction and installation of underground and above ground piping, fittings, and valves.  Work is scheduled to begin in May 2019 and is expected to be completed by July 2020.  View the full construction notice for project location, work hours, and what to expect during construction.

Median Turf Reduction Program - Final Phase
As the final phase of the Median Turf Reduction Program, the existing turf on the Baldwin Avenue, Santa Anita Avenue, and Live Oak Avenue medians will be replaced with decorative hardscape, drought tolerant plants, drip irrigation, and trees.  This will increase water efficiency and improve the overall aesthetics of the medians.  Work is scheduled to begin in February 2020 and is expected to be completed by June 2020.  View the full construction notice for project location, work hours, and what to expect during construction.

Pavement Rehabilitation Program
The project involves concrete and asphalt repairs, asphalt concrete paving, striping, and pavement markers of the roadway.  Work is scheduled to begin May 2020 and is expected to be completed by August 2020.  View the full construction notice for project locations, work hours, and what to expect during construction.

Water Valve Replacment Project
The project involves replacing a 30-inch water valve on southbound Santa Anita Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue.  Work is scheduled to begin early June 2020 and is epected to be competed by August 2020.  View the full construction notice for work hours and what to expect during construction.

Concrete Repairs Project
This project involves the repair of portions of damaged concrete curbs/gutters, sidewalk, and asphalt concrete pavement in front of designated residential areas.  Work is schedule to begin early June 2020 and completed by the end of July 2020.   A contractor, working for the City, will notify individual residents at least 48 hours, by door hanger, prior to any work being performed at their location.  View the full construction notice for work hours and what to expect during construction.
