Records Bureau

The Records Department is open daily 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for public service. Police records requests can be submitted via email to apdrecords@ArcadiaCA.gov or by calling (626) 574-5151.

The Police Department lobby is closed daily from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. For those needing immediate assistance during these hours, a push-button speaker system is available outside of the lobby. The speaker system communicates directly with our Dispatch Center.


OVERNIGHT PARKING PERMITS:

There is an overnight parking permit (TOPEK) machine located outside of the Police Department.

Local Criminal Record Check:

$40.00 – For those individuals who require it for travel purposes, but not to obtain a VISA.

The Arcadia Police Department no longer performs VISA Clearance Criminal checks, since the DOJ now wants them all to be performed on Live Scan. Individuals must now complete the appropriate Live Scan form, which we can provide, for a VISA Clearance. The electronic fingerprinting transmission and collection of fees for the Department of Justice for a VISA Clearance are performed by a public Live Scan service company. Reporting of Crime Activity or Incidents:

Performed by an Officer who is called in from the field. You may also report certain crimes online. Please note, you may only report crimes through this link if they fall into one of the following seven crime classifications: Auto burglary, theft, annoying/harassing phone calls, identity theft, lost property, vandalism, and vehicle tampering.

Traffic Citation Verification of Equipment Repair:

Performed by an on-duty Cadet or by an Officer who may be requested to respond from the field.

$13.00 – For Arcadia residents

$31.00 – For non-Arcadia residents

Vehicle Impound Releases:

Please contact the Records Department Personnel at (626) 574-5150 to inquire as to what documentation is required to obtain a vehicle release.

$208.00 – Vehicles stored/impounded for expired registration, unpaid parking tickets, traffic hazards, etc.

$856.00 – Vehicles stored/impounded due to an arrest.

Release of Property:

Service performed by the Evidence Technician and by appointment only. Please call (626) 574-5191 for more information.

Subpoenas – Civil Actions:

Subpoenas for records should be served to the Custodian of Records. The exact amount due will be determined prior to the reproduction of documents. However, please attach a check (minimum amount of $15.00) to the subpoena upon delivery.

Subpoenas for police department personnel appearances should be served to the Watch Commander after a $275.00 fee for each day of appearance, per each officer, has been deposited with the City Cashier’s Office. Civil subpoenas require 15 days between the date of service and actual appearance, as required, to allow for adequate notification.

Registration:

All Sex, Arson, and Narcotics Registrants must call the Detective Bureau at (626) 574-5160 to schedule an appointment.

The Arcadia Police Department offers Live Scan and Ink fingerprint services in the Records Bureau. Fingerprinting services are performed by a Cadet at the front counter. The requestor must have a valid picture ID. Please contact the Records Bureau at (626) 574-5151 for any questions and the days and times a cadet is available for fingerprinting services.


LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINT SERVICES

Directions for Non-City Applicants:

The Arcadia Police Department offers fingerprinting services for outside agencies. Non-City applicants are required to bring the following in order to obtain Live Scan fingerprinting services:

  1. Request for Live Scan Form (Note: Your agency/employer will provide you with a partially completed form and/or provide directions to you. You will then need to add your personal information to the form.)
  2. Mail Code
  3. Billing Code
  4. ORI Number
  5. Valid Photo ID (Expired ID's will not be accepted.)
  6. Pay an $13 processing fee (Accepted forms of payment: Cash, Check, Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard only))

Directions for City Applicants:

  1. Request for Live Scan Form (The HR department will provide you with the live scan form unless you have been given one by the hiring department.)
  2. Valid Photo ID (Expired ID's will not be accepted.)

"Live Scan" is the process of obtaining digital fingerprints and submitting them electronically to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and, when applicable, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as required for a condition of employment, licensing, certification, permits, adoptions, and VISA/Immigration clearance. Live Scan is a fast and easy way to submit and process background checks. Our process takes only a few minutes.

Once we complete our fingerprinting process, your file is immediately transmitted to the DOJ for background check processing. Background check results are typically received by the requesting Agency within 3 business days but could take up to 30 days depending upon DOJ processing times. Please be aware that previous Live Scans and resulting background checks cannot be transferred from one agency to another.


INK FINGERPRINT SERVICES

We also offer ink fingerprints. The requestor must present a Valid Picture ID. If your agency requires a special ink card to be stamped, please bring the card with you. The Arcadia Police Department charges to following fees for ink fingerprints:

$13.00 – First fingerprint card
$13.00 – Each additional fingerprint card

******NOTICE FOR ALL FINGERPRINT APPLICANTS******

  • A records check will be completed on all persons being fingerprinted prior to allowing access.
  • ONLY the person being printed will be allowed in the fingerprint area.
  • NO bags, purses, backpacks or other personal items are allowed in the fingerprint area.
