Hello and welcome to the website of the Arcadia Police Department. In the website, you will learn about our organization, our values and the services we proudly provide to our community.

It is an honor to lead the men and women of the Arcadia Police Department and a privilege to serve the City of Arcadia for the past 31 years. The Arcadia Police Department values its commitment to service and commitment to its employees as we work to meet the needs of the community in the 21st century. Reducing crime has always been the number one priority of the Arcadia Police Department. The use of various technologies and improving recruitment and training of officers are vital components in maintaining this priority.

All members of the Arcadia Police Department are expected to perform their duties legally and professionally while respecting the Constitutional Rights of all people. We are dedicated to our Law Enforcement Code of Ethics as we recognize that adherence to the highest ethical standard is the basis of keeping the trust of the public.

I believe one of the reasons why Arcadia is a wonderful place to live and work is because of the continuing relationship between the Arcadia Police Department and its community, a partnership that actively works to ensure a good quality of life and, above all, to keep Arcadia safe. We have community members who volunteer their time to the Police Department in pursuit of the partnership. The community support for the Arcadia Police Department is second to none.

Finally, the most valuable resource we have are the men and women of the Arcadia Police Department with whom I proudly serve. They include Police Officers, Reserve Officers, Dispatchers, Records Technicians, Administrative Support Staff and Police Volunteers. We have a collective goal of “making a difference” in our community. If “making a difference” is important to you, I invite you to consider becoming an employee or a volunteer of the Police Department.

On behalf of the men and women of the Arcadia Police Department, thank you for visiting our website and for your support.

Sincerely,

Roy Nakamura
Chief of Police

The Arcadia Police Department is dedicated to protecting quality of life and providing the highest level of service.  We will achieve this with a commitment to our oath of office and the principles of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics in partnership with the community.

AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER,

my fundamental duty is to serve the community; to safeguard lives and property;to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against violence, or disorder; and to respect the constitutional rights of all to liberty, equality, and justice.

I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all and will behave in a manner that

does not bring discredit to me or my agency.I will maintain courageous and calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others.

Honest in thought and deed in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the law and the regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential nature

or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of my duty.

I will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, political beliefs, aspirations, animosities, or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice, or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities.

I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of police service. I will never engage in acts of corruption or bribery, nor will I condone such acts by other police officers. I will cooperate with all legally authorized agencies and their representatives in the pursuit of justice.

I know that I alone am responsible for my own standard of professional performance and will take every reasonable opportunity to enhance and improve my level of knowledge and competence. I will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating myself before God to my chosen profession -Law Enforcement.
