STORYTIMES AND EVENTS
Arcadia Public Library offers a variety of storytimes for babies to school-age children. Our Storytimes help children build vocabulary, listening skills, and social confidence through stories, songs, rhymes, and hands-on activities that promote early literacy and school readiness.

Seedlings Storytime
For ages 4 to 23 months
Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Imagination Theater
A 15 to 20-minute interactive storytime with age-appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays that introduce infants and young toddlers to the rhythms of language and early literacy skills.

Sprouts Storytime
For ages 24 to 47 months
Wednesdays, 10:30 am
Imagination Theater
A 30 to 40 minute session designed for toddlers. Children explore stories, songs, and activities that promote vocabulary growth, early comprehension skills, and social interaction.
Blooms Storytime
For ages 4 to 7 years
Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Imagination Theater
A 40 to 45 minute program for preschool and early elementary children. Includes read alouds, flannel stories, movement activities, and interactive learning experiences that strengthen literacy, listening, and classroom readiness skills.

English & Mandarin Bilingual Storytime
For ages 3 to 5 years
Thursdays, 6:30 pm
Imagination Theater
A bilingual storytime with stories, songs, and activities in both Mandarin and English. Children develop language skills in two languages while enjoying interactive literacy experiences that foster cultural awareness and communication skills.

- Storytime Kits include books, songs, rhymes, and activity suggestions to help families enjoy storytime at home. Perfect for early literacy development.
- The Parent-Teacher Collection offers a variety of resources to support parents, caregivers, and educators.
- Tumble Books is an online collection of animated, interactive picture books for ages 5 – 12 years.
- The Picture Book Reading List features recommended titles that are perfect for reading aloud to young learners.
OTHER LIBRARY PROGRAMS
The Library provides fun and educational events for kids. Join us for our next program!
Book Buddies: Teens read to kids for 30 minutes to prevent the Summer Slide. The program is designed to provide positive reading role models and enriching reading experiences for children ages 4 to 8 years. Program runs from October through May and registration is required.
Summer at Arcadia Public Library: The Summer Reading Program is a celebration of reading for children and their families. Participants are invited to sign up, read, and track their reading hours to earn exciting prizes, which can be collected during visits to the Library. Throughout the summer, special events and guest performers add to the fun. Program details become available in late May.
Saturday Specials: A special event is held each month at the Library, featuring activities such as book parties, arts and crafts, STEAM workshops, and more.
Read Across America: This event is usually held every year on or near March 2, in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday in partnership with Arcadia’s Fire and Police Department.
