The Military Banner Program was established by the City of Arcadia to honor and recognize living military personnel from Arcadia. Street banners honoring those who have served in the United States Armed Forces will be proudly displayed along Huntington Drive in the month of November.

On this website you will find the policy, guidelines, and application for the Military Banner Program.  All banners are free to those who meet the qualifications outlined in the Policy.  Participation is on a first come first served basis.  Before you start the application, please read the policies and procedures of the Program carefully. 



Arcadia Veterans Local History Room 

Honoring All Who Served
The Arcadia Veterans Local History Room is a permanent exhibit space dedicated to veterans from the City of Arcadia. The exhibit honors veterans of all ages in all arenas.

We invite Arcadia's veterans to contribute to the pages of the Veteran's registry and Blue Star registry, which are on display.  Forms for the registry are available in the exhibit and below. Family Members of deceased veterans are also encouraged to participate.




New Display Case for Arcadia Veterans Local History Room 

The Friends of the Arcadia Museum fundraised for the Gilb Museum to have a new enclosed display case in 2025 that would protect military artifacts, allow for more items to be on display, and enviormental control of artifacts.

Veterans Registry Kiosk
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (Santa Anita Chapter, located in Arcadia) is proud to sponsor this NSDAR Special Projects Grant with the Friends of the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage, for funding a touch screen kiosk in the Veteran's Local History Room of the Gilb Museum.

To qualify, honorees must meet the following requirements:

  • Living military personnel from the United States Armed Forces who were honorably discharged; AND
  • Honoree must have lived in Arcadia at some point prior to entering military service OR currently reside in the City; OR
  • Immediate family member of a current Arcadia resident (Immediate family would include a mother/father/guardian, husband/wife, son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, niece or nephew)
  • In order to show residency please submit the following documents: California ID OR utility bill
Applications are being accepted for Fall 2026.
There is no cost to those who apply.

*Office Hours*
If you are in need of assistance to fill out the application, please visit the Gilb Museum on Tuesday or Thursday mornings from 10am to 12pm.
*The following must be included when the application is submitted: 

A copy of the applicant drivers license or current utility bill showing the City of Arcadia address of the military service person or their family member.
 
Verification of military service documentation including one of the following:

  • DD 214 form
  • NGB form 22
  • Reserve separation orders
  • Veterans health ID card or Veterans ID card
  • Driver's License or State ID with Veteran endorsement
  • Honorable discharge certificate
