DONATE TO THE LIBRARY
Material Donations
The Library accepts donations of books and other materials in good condition. Items not needed by the Library may be sold by the Friends of the Library in their bookstore. Neither the Library nor the Friends can accept donations of magazines, obsolete audiovisual materials, encyclopedia sets, or materials in poor condition.
Material donations may be left on the Library’s loading dock at the rear of the building. If you would like a receipt, please ring the bell at the loading dock door Monday through Friday (except for holidays) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday.
Monetary Contributions
Tax deductible contributions may be made to the Friends of the Arcadia Public Library or directly to the Arcadia Public Library to support a specific program, for the purchase of materials, or for unrestricted purposes.
Contact or visit a Library public service desk for more information.
CONTRIBUTE A MEMORIAL OR HONOR BOOK
Monetary contributions may be made for Memorial or Honor Books. Using these funds, the Library will purchase a book (or books) in a requested subject area. A special bookplate will be placed in the book naming the honoree. This same information will also appear on the online catalog record for the book.
What is a Memorial Book?
A Memorial book is a book that makes a tribute to the memory of a family member or friend. You may request the Library to send an acknowledgement to the family or you may choose a special card from a selection the Library has to offer that you send directly. Staff can also arrange for a reserve to be put on the book so that the family may see and enjoy the Memorial Book.
What is an Honor Book?
An Honor Book is a wonderful way to celebrate and honor friends and family on a special occasion. You will be given a special gift card that you can present to the honoree. Staff can arrange for a reserve to be put on the book so that the honoree can be the first to read the Honor Book.
To arrange for a Memorial or Honor Book donation, visit a Library Service Desk or use this Memorial/Honor Book Request Form. Complete and return the Request Form along with your monetary donation to the Library’s Administrative Office. Checks should be made out to: Arcadia Public Library.
