What is CERT?

The program equips participants with practical skills that enhance personal safety and strengthen neighborhood resilience during incidents such as earthquakes, fires, and other emergencies.

CERT training is led by Arcadia Fire Department personnel and covers disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, and effective team organization. CERT members do not replace professional first responders; instead, they serve as a vital support by assisting family members, neighbors, and the community when emergency services are overwhelmed or delayed.

Through education, hands-on training, and community engagement, the Arcadia Fire Department CERT Program helps build a safer, more prepared Arcadia.
