Arcadia Volunteen Program

The Arcadia Recreation Department has a Volunteen Program open to youth ages 13 and up. Teens will obtain valuable work experience and gain confidence in working with and in the community. Separate applications are available for applicants entering grades 7 and 8 and applicants entering high school in the Fall. Applicants from grades 7 and 8 will have the opportunity to volunteer at our Elementary Summer Fun ‘n Play sites. High School applicants will have the

opportunity to volunteer at the Middle School Zone, Day Camp, and Sports Camp. Applications for the summer season will be available on Monday, March 20 at the Arcadia Recreation and Community Services Department and are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21. For new applicants, those selected will be invited to an oral interview which will be scheduled after school the weeks of May 1 and May 8. This is a very popular program and space is limited.

Middle School Re-Zone 

The Re-Zone is a free and supervised program available to youth in grades 6-8.  The center is supervised by Recreation Leaders and allows youth to have a safe place to hang out with friends.  Re-Zone provides a monthly flyer of activities and special events happening at the center.  There is no charge for the program but fees will apply for some special events.  Re-Zone is a drop-in program and is closed on all AUSD observed holidays and minimum days.  Transportation to or from Re-Zone is the responsibility of the participant.  Please call for more information 626.574.5113

Teen Night

Come join the Arcadia Recreation Staff for a night of excitement and fun!  This program is open for tens ages 12-18. Teens will enjoy activities such as basketball, dodge ball, movie nights, raffles, tournaments and more!  Pizza dinner will be served at 7pm so make sure to be there before then.  Advance registration is mandatory and can be done at the Recreation Office.  For more information please call the Recreation Office at (626) 574-5113.

Friday, October 13 “Trick or Treat Night”  

Location: The Arcadia Community Center                 

Participants will meet at the Arcadia Community Center at 6pm where they will enjoy a night of Halloween activities, trick or treating, and indoor activities such as board games, raffles, tournaments and more. Dinner will take place at 7pm followed by activities.

Friday, November 17  “Justice League” Movie Night

Location: The Arcadia Community Center               

Participants will meet at the Arcadia Community Center at 6pm, enjoy dinner and then walk over to the AMC Theater in the Santa Anita Mall to watch the “Justice League” movie. Pick up location TBD when time of movie is known.

Friday, December 8  “Bingo Bonanza Night”

Location: The Arcadia Community Center               

Participants will meet at the Arcadia Community Center at 6pm enjoy dinner, which takes place at 7pm; then participants will enjoy a night of Bingo with lots of fun things to win, indoor activities, a candy bar, raffles, and more.
