Area Command Program
In 2014, Chief Guthrie established an Area Command Program to help reduce crime, improve quality of life in the City, and increase community engagement. Each of the Department's lieutenants are an Area Commander of one of the City's five districts, covering a specific geographical location. Each Lieutenant is accountable for understanding the issues and concerns that are unique to their respective areas. The Area Commanders also act as liaisons with residents, businesses, and community organizations within each vicinity. Overall, the partnership is enhancing the Department's ability to develop strategies and direct proper resources to both reduce crime and solve unique community problems.
- Mission: To effectively reduce crime and improve quality of life issues with the objective of ensuring the City of Arcadia receives the most efficient and professional policing services possible
- Geographic areas: Separated into five areas - Area 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5
- Role: Lieutenants will serve as liaisons with residents, businesses, and community organizations
The Area Command Program is one of many steps the Arcadia Police Department is taking to help achieve our mission of "Making A Difference" in our community.
We ask that all residents view the City's Area Command Map and become familiar with the Area Commander assigned to your region. Anytime you have questions, concerns, or would like to speak with your Area Commander, please feel free to contact him or her directly. Contact information for each Area Commander is listed under the Area Command section of this website, under each respective area.
