What is a Memorial Book?

A Memorial book is a book that makes a fitting tribute to the memory of a family member or friend. With your donation, Library staff will select a book in the subject area of your choice.  A bookplate inside the book will note the name of the person in whose memory the book is being given.  This same information will also appear on the catalog record for that book.  You may choose to have the Library send an acknowledgement to the family or you may choose a special card from a selection the Library has to offer that you may send directly.  

Staff can also arrange for a reserve to be put on the book so that the family may see and enjoy the Memorial Book.

With your donation, Library staff will select a book in the subject area of your choice.  A bookplate inside the book will note your name, the name of the person in whose honor the book is being given and the occasion being honored.  This same information will also appear on the catalog record for that book.  You will be given a special gift card that you can present to the honoree.

Staff can arrange for a reserve to be put on the book so that the honoree can be the first to read the Honor Book.

How do I arrange for a Memorial or Honor Book?

Simply stop by the Library Administration Office or one of the Information Desks at the Library and request the form or click this link to the Memorial/Honor Book Request Form.  Fill in this form and turn it in, along with your donation, to the Administration Office.  Check should be made out to:  Arcadia Public Library.  All donations to the Library are tax deductible.  For more information, please call the Library at (626) 821-5570.
