The Emergency Management Program includes all elements necessary to respond quickly and effectively to major emergencies.  These elements include: an Emergency Management Plan, an Emergency Operations Center, an Emergency Management Team, Public Safety Officers, an Employee Safety Officer Program, a Public Education Program and trained volunteers.

action-logoACTION (Arcadians Caring Together Improves Our Neighborhoods) is the emergency preparedness, crime prevention, and fire prevention program for the City of Arcadia. Topics include:

  • General Emergency Preparedness
    • Survival Kit Checklist
    • First Aid Kit Checklist
    • Food and Water for Survival
    • How to Care for Those with Special Needs
  • Earthquake Preparedness

Request a hard copy of the ACTION handbook

To request that a hard copy of the ACTION handbook be sent to you, please call the Fire Department at (626) 574-5100.  Remember to include your name and address.  Hard copy versions of the ACTION handbook are only available in English at the present time.

 Request an ACTION presentation

If your civic, service, church, or neighborhood group would like a free ACTION presentation given by our Fire Department and Police Department staff, we would be happy to help.  Typically, there is a verbal or computer presentation followed by questions and answers.  The discussion can be customized based on your particular needs (e.g. seniors, children, and so on).  A free ACTION handbook will be given away to all in attendance, and sometimes small emergency preparedness-related "gifts" will be available as well.  Request and schedule an ACTION presentation online by clicking here, or call (626) 574-5100.
