The Development Services Department is charged with the responsibility of facilitating responsible development within the City of Arcadia and provides comprehensive land use, economic development, engineering and transportation services.

Development Services Organizational Chart

Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager/Development Services Director, the Department is organized into the following four divisions:

Administration

The Department Director manages all department activities as well as a variety of capital improvement and administrative projects.  The City’s transportation program operates within this division.

Community Development

The Community Development Division is responsible for building, planning, code services and business license.

Economic Development

The Economic Development Division encourages and supports development and redevelopment of certain areas of the City and attempts to stimulate and promote quality business in Arcadia.

 Engineering

The Engineering Division provides services related to development and ongoing activities in the City's public Right-of-Way.  These include plan review, permitting and inspection of street and parkway improvements, administration of Capital Improvement Projects, and permitting and inspection of utility company permits.  They also include Traffic Engineering services, and special permits such as street closures, block parties, and construction bins.
