Homelessness Email Distributions
Thank you for subscribing to the Arcadia Homelessness Email Distribution List. Below are a few updates:
- On Tuesday, June 1, the Arcadia City Council will consider establishing an ad hoc Homelessness Advisory Committee of Arcadia residents to make recommendations to the City Council on addressing homelessness in the City. If you are interested in joining the Committee, please reply back to this email expressing your interest. The public is welcome to view City Council Meetings as they take place on the City’s website at ArcadiaCA.gov/livegov, in-person (beginning June 15), or on ACTV (check your local listings). The community is also welcome to submit public comment by website, email, or by phone. Please see the latest City Council Agenda at ArcadiaCA.gov/agenda for specific details.
- Since November 2020, the Homeless Resource Hub (HRH) has positively impacted 716 individuals experiencing homelessness, including 225 Case Manager connections, 451 showers, 502 loads of laundry, 8 employment resource services, and 11 housing resource connections. This data accounts for repeat individuals who return weekly for services. For the past 7 months, the City has been able to assist those in need with minimal complaints/issues from the community. This positive response led the City to conclude that two more months of the HRH Pilot Program would be appropriate while we consider options such as Tiny Shelters, which could also house the HRH at the project site in the future. The City received an extension of the grant funding from the County to continue the HRH, which is located at Par3 Golf Course Parking Lot until the end of July 2021. The HRH will continue to offer showers, laundry, lunch, job training, case management, and other helpful services. (Please see the flyer)
