The Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage would like to thank the Friends of the Arcadia Museum and the Hakka Foundation for this generous donation. It is with great pride that we accept this money, which will be designated to helping the Museum provide educational offerings to members of the community. It is the plan of the Gilb Museum to take this money and pour it right back into the community in the form of free educational kits for local children. This past summer, the Gilb Museum was able to create kits that were themed around different common Museum jobs, such as Paleontology and Anthropology. With help from the Friends of Arcadia Museum, the Gilb Museum was able to distribute approximately 500 free kits to children throughout Arcadia. With this donation, the Museum looks to provide more kits to the community, especially for those children who attended the Museum’s Preschool Program before the Museum’s closure. These kits will not only be educational, but will incorporate teachings on the history of the City of Arcadia, which the Gilb Museum has always sought to illuminate and celebrate.
Again, thank you to the Hakka Foundation and thank you to the Friends of the Arcadia Museum. The Gilb Museum could not possibly provide such offerings that help the community without your help.
On June 17, 2021, the Arcadia Chinese Association graciously donated $1,000 to the Friends of the Arcadia Museum, as well as the Friends of the Library and the Arcadia Historical Society.
Thank you to the Arcadia Chinese Association for their support!
