San Gabriel Valley Airport

Located in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley with access to the I-10 and 210 Freeways, the San Gabriel Valley Airport (formerly known as the El Monte Airport) facilitates over 97,000 general aviation takeoffs and landings each year. Originally constructed in 1936, today the airport, owned and operated by the County of Los Angeles since 1969, is publicly available to general aviation aircraft 24-hours a day seven days a week and is home to over 300 based aircraft, a restaurant, and numerous aviation-related businesses.

The City of Arcadia holds no authority over takeoffs, landings, air traffic patterns, or any other operational aspects of the Airport. For questions or concerns regarding the airport or air traffic, please contact the San Gabriel Valley Airport or the Los Angeles County Aviation Commission.

The ten-member Los Angeles County Aviation Commission serves to advise the County Board of Supervisors regarding the operation and development of the County's five-airport system. Commission meetings are held monthly, with the exception of July and December, at the various County airports. Each meeting offers an opportunity to learn about the projects and activities occurring at the airports and to provide public comment. To contact the Aviation Commission, please visit their website.

Arcadia Police Department
The Arcadia Police Department is a partner agency in the Foothill Air Support Team (FAST). FAST provides helicopter air support law enforcement capabilities in support of the City's public safety goals. From time to time, helicopters may fly at low levels during airborne operations and can create unexpected noise in our community. If you have questions or concerns regarding FAST activities, please contact the Arcadia Police Department.
