City Clerk Gene Glasco

Gene GlascoGene Glasco is a native Californian and sixty-three- year resident of Arcadia. He is serving his second term as the City of Arcadia’s elected City Clerk. He attended Highland Oaks Elementary school, First Avenue Junior High School, and is a graduate of Arcadia High School where he lettered in Football and played trombone in the award-winning AHS Marching Band. Gene is the first elected Arcadia City Clerk that is a graduate of Arcadia High School.

Gene served six years in the United States Navy. He spent fourteen months in Vietnam as a Radioman in direct support of Navy riverboat activities in the Mekong Delta. He attended Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo graduating on the Deans Honor Roll. He majored in Public Relations and Asian American History at California State University-San Jose. Gene was CEO of Glasco and Associates, Inc., a foodservice sales and marketing company that represented national and regional food manufacturers on an exclusive basis. After thirty years in the brokerage business, he sold his company and transitioned to residential real estate marketing and sales. He is a Realtor with At Del Rey Realty assisting sellers and buyers of residential and income properties in Arcadia and throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

Gene has been a volunteer in various capacities for the City of Arcadia and community at large. He was a two-term Commissioner and Chairman of the Arcadia Senior Citizens Commission. He served four years as President of the Arcadia Historical Society and was Vice President of the Arcadia Highlands Home Owners Association. Gene’s hobbies include foreign languages. He is fluent in Tagalog and conversant in Spanish. He is a member of the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, Certified Instructor for the California Department of Justice and Certified Instructor with the National Rifle Association. He is a member of the Arcadia Elks Lodge, President of the West Coast Chapter of Gamewardens of Vietnam-America’s oldest, continuously operating Vietnam veterans organization, Director and founding member of the Vietnam Unit Memorial Foundation, Coronado, CA., Member-Marines Memorial Club, Life Member- Disabled American Veterans, Member-American Legion Post 628, and Life Member-Arcadia/Monrovia Post 2070 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Gene is the Founder of the Arcadia Vietnam War Monument Memorial located in the Arcadia County Park. Last April, Gene was named Arcadia Citizen of the Year for 2017-2018.


Gene considers it an honor and privilege to represent and serve his fellow citizens of Arcadia.
