Council Member April Verlato
Council Member April Verlato was elected to her first term on City Council in April 2016 and re-elected to a second term in April 2020. She served as Mayor of Arcadia, April 2019-April 2020.
She serves as the delegate to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments for the City of Arcadia, was recently appointed as 3rd Vice President and also serves on the Homelessness Committee.
April was born and raised in Arcadia. She received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from UCLA and a law degree from Southwestern School of Law. She took over her father's law practice located in the heart of Downtown Arcadia on Huntington Drive between Santa Anita and First Avenue in 2000. She continues to practice law in the areas of Personal Injury and Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Litigation.
She has 2 school age children that attend Arcadia schools and she serves as an executive officer on Arcadia Council PTA and Arcadia High School PTSA.
Council Member Verlato is also a founding member and officer of the Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association (2012-present), a Community Benefits District focused on promoting and revitalizing Downtown Arcadia.
