The Citywide Historic Preservation Ordinance public hearing will be held on February 19, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will hold a public hearing on the following project.
Resolution No. 7240 and Ordinance No. 2359 Amending the City’s Development Code, Article IX of the Arcadia Municipal Code Adopting the City’s first Historic Preservation Ordinance and a list of 176 potential historic resources. The Draft Ordinance provides a framework to protect certain structures and resources that are important to the history of the City. This includes a Categorical Exemption from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15308 and under the General Rule Exemption since no construction activities or other direct physical changes would result from the adoption of the Historic Preservation Ordinance.

It should be noted that the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on January 8, 2019 and their recommendations will be provided to the City Council.
Persons wishing to comment on the draft Ordinance and/or environmental documents may do so at the public hearing or by submitting writing statements to Planning Services prior to the February 19, 2019 hearing. This notice was published in the Arcadia Weekly newspaper. The staff report for the City council meeting will be available for review on the City’s website at www.ArcadiaCA.gov after 5:30 p.m. on February 14, 2019.
