The 45th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is on February 7, 2019
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce are presenting the 45th Annual City of Arcadia Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast featuring the State of the City Address at the Arcadia Community Center. The event begins at 7:30AM. This is the second year the City of Arcadia is partnering with the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce to produce this much anticipated event. The event is also sponsored by Foothill Credit Union.
“The theme for this year’s breakfast is Traditions of Arcadia,” said Mayor Sho Tay. “I want to recognize the importance of our community traditions, faith, family values, as well as being neighborly to our fellow Arcadians.” The event will also feature interdenominational faith-based representation from Reverend Jolene Cadenbach, Arcadia Congregational Church, Imam Nissar Hai, Mosque of San Gabriel, and Rabbi Sholom Stiefel, Chabad of Arcadia.
This year’s keynote speaker is former Arcadia Mayor James R. Helms, who has been an Arcadia resident for 62 years. Mr. Helms served on the City Council for eight years, and was elected as Mayor for the 1971 -1972 term. He has been very active in the community over the years, serving as president of many local civic and fraternal organizations.
Tickets to the event are $20 per person, with a hot breakfast buffet included. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Arcadia Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization that was founded in 1981 in response to substantially reduced federal and state funding for California public schools. The Arcadia Educational Foundation’s purpose is to raise funds for the Arcadia Unified School District.
Reservations are required by January 31, 2019. Tickets may be purchased online at www.arcadiacachamber.org. For additional information please contact the Mayor’s Office at 626-574-5403, or email mbuttice@ArcadiaCA.gov
