Mulch Giveaway Event

Spring is the perfect time to mulch, so come pick up some high-quality mulch at the annual Mulch Giveaway Event!

What is mulch? Mulch is a material (like decaying leaves, bark, or compost) applied to the surface of soil. Place 2-3 inches of mulch around your plants, along walkways, and on top of other bare areas to reduce evaporation, prevent weeds, and improve soil fertility.

The City will be hosting the giveaway over two Saturdays on April 21 and April 28, 2018. Mulch will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. Just like last year, free-standing mulch will be located at the Arcadia Public Library's west parking lot. Enter via Duarte Rd. and prepare to queue in your vehicle. This event is free to Arcadia residents. Please note that mulch is limited to 2 cubic yards (a truck bed) per residence.

Residents will need to bring the following items to receive free mulch:

  • A shovel and sturdy containers/boxes to hold mulch
  • Arcadia water bill
